A host of other activites is also within reach of residents. Besides canoeing, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing and ice fishing, we can easily go alpine skiing or golfing.
The are three small ski hills nearby (Mont Restigouche in Pointe-à-la-Croix, Mont Sugarloaf in Atholville and Petit Chamonix in Matapedia) and two larger ski hills less than an hours drive away (Val d'Irène in Amqui and Pin Rouge in New Richmond). Three golf courses are accessible, in Campbellton, Carleton and Amqui.
Residents head to Campbellton (a ten-minute drive away) on a regular basis for sports and cultural activities as well as for regular errands. There is the Memorial Civic Centre with an indoor pool, two skating rinks, squash and raquetball courts and a weight room. The Centre is home to the Restigouche Tigers of the Maritime Junion A league.
Campbellton also has a theatre, an art gallery and a library. The city's website www.campbellton.org has more information on these facilities and contact information for various sports and recreation clubs.
